Within the module, students will explore the theoretical principles within coach mentoring practice, communication and feedback as a mentor and also when to challenge or support coaches.
Mentoring has been identified as a core principle of sports coaching education. Mentoring is a tool that can support the development of knowledge, skill and delivery of practitioners. With the integration of the FAW Coach Education qualifications within the BSc (Hons) Football Coaching and the Performance Specialist programme, this provides an opportune and multi-beneficial opportunity for students to develop mentoring skills by supporting their peers.
The course will help provide the skillset and ability to support coaches within the applied environment. In turn, this will benefit the overall delivery of the coaches and subsequently help develop the performance of the players.
This course is starting May 6 May 2022
