This course will look at the heart of contemporary debates about the operation of criminal justice in England and Wales.

You will look at nine notorious crimes and criminals, such as; Myra Hindley, Timothy Evans, John Worboys and more.

The course will look at how these notorious cases have framed debates about criminal justice. You will gain an understanding of how crimes may be investigated and of the possible aims of sentencing. The course will also allow you to identify groups who may be vulnerable to crime and victimisation.

The course will be delivered wholly online, with contributions to the assessment be completed by each student every week, with all learning content uploaded as a pre-recorded lecture to Moodle on the Monday of each week.
Students can work through this content in their own time, and at their own pace.

The course will run for 5 weeks.
