Working Together to Safeguard Self and Others

This course has been developed to raise professional awareness of working with vulnerable adults and young people, including issues of safeguarding and multi-agency working.

Starting on 20th November 2017 from 6-9 pm and running until 18th December 2017 before a break for Christmas. You will then return for two further weeks January 15th and 22nd 2018.

Detailed Description

This course is delivered by a combination of our Social Work, Social Care and Youth Work teams and is suitable for those individuals who do not necessarily have to undertake the regulatory training but need to have an awareness of safeguarding and multi-agency working in reference to safeguarding and other policy/legal requirements – basically anyone who comes into contact with youth, children or vulnerable adults regardless of their role

At the end of this module, students will be able to:-

  1. Analyse the development of the adolescent brain and how this impacts on risk taking behaviour and resilience.
  2. Examine the concept of safeguarding and the role of the professional in safeguarding self and others.
  3. Evaluate the key skills and factors involved in effective multiagency working.
